Dan Saitz and Hyperformance Motorsports Infiltrate Enemy Territory

Dan Saitz of Hyperformance Motorsports went on the offensive against the Brand X racers as he attacked them on their home turf during the Super Chevy Show at Gateway International Raceway. This past weekend the Super Chevy promoters opened up its Outlaw 10.5 and True 10.5/Drag Radial program to all makes and models, despite it being an all-Chevy weekend. The hometown racer made the short drive from his Fenton, MO shop to Gateway, unloaded his turbocharged 1989 Mustang LX coupe, and dominated the competition. Saitz ran a best of 5.15 over the weekend but don’t let the time fool you, track surface temperature soared to nearly 150 degrees and the atmospheric conditions were nearing the triple digit mark as well. Saitz runs his Mustang in NMRA and NMCA Drag Radial with a 364ci engine with Trick Flow R cylinder heads and a Precision 85mm big-frame turbocharger. Saitz was quick to credit TCI for the torque converter and Powerglide from its Pro-X line-up as well as FAST for the XFI engine management system. The savvy racer also pointed out his new Hyperaktive Boost Controller as a major player in his consistent performances as of late. The coupe has been 7.60 at 185 mph on the long track. Saitz operates Hyperformance Motorsports, a specialty performance shop that focuses on turbocharger systems, custom supercharging fabrication solutions, headers for any combination, and boost-related components.
