The Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing saw it come down to the final pairing of NMCA Pro Street vs. NMRA Pro Outlaw 10.5. It was a battle of two legends, Mike Murillo for Team NMRA in his Pro Outlaw 10.5 car against Don Walsh Jr. in his NMCA Pro Street entry. The score was 5 to 5 and Walsh encountered engine troubles by mid-track and Murillo chugged down track for the win. The shootout started with two straight wins for NMRA but NMCA countered with three straight wins. From there the teams volleyed back and forth with the culmination coming in the final pairing. It was the 11th pair and as we mentioned, Walsh left hard but the engine popped and he shut it down early as Murillo streaked to the win.
