We’re here at Beech Bend Raceway for the 14th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA World Finals. It’s the final stop on The Keystone NMRA Ford National points tour, so everyone will have their cars set to “kill” in hopes of earning a better finish in the championship race. Today is a load-in day, and there was a huge line at the gates this morning, which should set the tone for the entire weekend. Victor Nieblas is here with his gorgeous New Edge car here in Blow-By Racing Renegade. He’s rocking a new nitrous motor from MPR this weekend so we’re expecting to see some stout numbers from him.
Here’s a face we haven’t seen in a while. Rick Riccardi has spent the season going over his car with a fine-toothed comb and upgrading it to be at the top of the Edelbrock Hot Street class. During some recent testing, Riccardi ran some numbers that are just flat-out fast, while he still had some left on the table. He’s not leaving anything on the table for this race, however, and is looking to not just run a personal-best, but he wants to leave with the event win.
