Brad Medlock Locked In For NMRA World Finals on 235 Radial tires!

Posted By: Mike Galimi
The Nitto Tire NMRA All-Ford World Finals brings together several segments of the Mustang and Ford communities for a long weekend of excitement and fun. For some it is the quest to win a championship or secure a spot in the exclusive Top Ten club in their category of choice. Others, it is the prospect of going as quick as they can due to the excellent track and weather conditions during that time of the year. It is the latter that is attracting Brad Medlock to the season finale, held September 29 through October 1 at Beech Bend Raceway. After becoming the presumptuous MX235 champion, a class that is run independently and was hosted by the NMCA at three of its events, Medlock is entering VP Racing Fuels Street Outlaw. The twist is that Medlock is keeping his 235/50R15 radials bolted on and gunning for the all-time 235 drag radial record, which sits at 4.62 for the moment. Medlock's 1998 Cobra Mustang sports a Kuntz and Company 360ci engine with a pair of Edelbrock Victor cylinder heads and a Precision Pro Mod 88mm turbocharger on board. Right now, the car's best pass down the eighth-mile is a 4.67 at 154 mph during MX235 competition at the NMCA Bluegrass Nationals earlier this year. Adding more value to his visit to the NMRA All-Ford Finals is that the track is close to home for one of his biggest sponsors TS Performance. Right up the road from Beech Bend Raceway is a leading aftermarket-tuning manufacturer who is moving into the data logging market. TS Performance has been proudly displayed on Medlock's hood all season long. The NMRA All-Ford World Finals means something different to everyone and for Medlock, he is hoping to etch his name in the history books of drag radial racing.
