For 4th stop of the 2008 season, the NMRA Keystone Automotive Ford Nationals and the NMCA Edelbrock Muscle Car Nationals will converge for the 3rd Annual Motive Gear Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing III presented by Nitto Tire. What better place to hold such an event at Route 66 Raceway? Known as the first true "Stadium of Drag Racing," Route 66 Raceway is a multimillion-dollar complex that includes a 30,000 seat stadium-style drag strip with 27 luxury suites and is a suitable home for the Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing III.

Fans from all over the country will travel to Joliet, Illinois, to see the All the Cars and All the Stars of the NMRA and NMCA battle it out to see who will win the Super Bowl titles. So whether you're a rabid Ford fan or a muscle car fanatic, this race will keep you on the edge of your seat all weekend long. At the Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing III you get two events for the price of one. All of the NMRA's wild all-Ford classes will compete at this event. You will also see Chevy vs. Ford vs. Mopar when the NMCA's wheels-up classes race for glory. At the end of the day on Sunday witness the NMRA winners take on the NMCA winners for the Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing III Titles.

Have you ever wanted to drag race? Imagine racing your street car on the best drag strip in the USA! NMRA and NMCA have a whole bunch of entry level classes designed just for you. True Street is for 15 second cars down with over 9 awards given away on Saturday. Open Comp, Modular Muscle, Super Stang are all great classes for a new racer. NMRA will host an awesome auto show and shine presented by Modified Mustangs & Fords and Mustang Monthly magazines. Bring out your Ford muscle car, hot rod, truck or specialty vehicle for a chance to win over 50 awards each day (Saturday and Sunday). Have a Chevy or a Mopar? Bring em out because the NMCA will also host an all-domestic auto show for any American made muscle car, hot rod or street car with over 100 awards given away over the weekend. This is the BIG one for car shows in the Chicagoland area with the NMRA show and NMCA show attracting some of the most beautiful, collectible, stock and modified muscle cars and hot rods in the U.S.

Looking to buy some parts for your Mustang or Ford? How about for a Chevy or Mopar? Do you want to speak face-to-face with performance experts? The NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing III always has an awesome manufacturers' midway with all sorts of good deals on the performance parts you need for your muscle car or hot rod. There is also a used parts swap meet for folks who are looking for that special hard to find car part!

All of the major automotive press attend the Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing each year. Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords, Hot Rod, Car Craft, Popular Hot Rodding, Race Pages, Modified Mustangs & Fords, and Mustang Monthly will all be at this great event covering the action.

"Attention in the pits, attention in the pits… all NMRA and NMCA racers and crew are cordially invited to the 6th Annual Nitto Tire Racer Appreciation Party hosted by Bassani Xhaust.” This party will be held at the Motive Gear NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL, on Friday, July 18th. The party will run from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM and will feature lots of food, drink and music.

Official party host, Daryl Bassani, is sure to bring this party to new heights in 2008. Last year his top secret punch and hot wings kept the revelry going well into the night. The party will be located on the manufacturers midway between the Nitto Tire rig and the Bassani Xhaust display.

“This party has always been a great time at Route 66 and is a chance for our racers and sponsors to get together and have some fun,” said Charlie Harmon of ProMedia Events. “Nitto Tire and Bassani Xhaust always throw a great party and go the extra mile for our competitors.”

The Motive Gear NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing Presented by Nitto Tire is the largest street-legal event of the year. This event, which will be held July 17-20, 2008, brings together the NMRA and NMCA the same weekend at the #1 facility in the U.S.
