What a way to start the season with a win in open comp. I think that will carry me a long way this season. The high is undescribable. Sends chills down my spine just thinking about it. Yee haa!!! For starters I was having trouble getting the car to hook friday night on the juice. Then my brother Chuck Hockenberry had a bearing destroy itself on one of his c- clip eliminators. Thanks to the Parkers Roy,Bryan, and Shirley we were able to get Chucks car back togather using my old 28 spline axles and mini spool by midnight friday. Bryan and Roy helped me sort my car out and get it to hook and the rest is history. First of all this win was for my mother in law who at 57 has found out she has a very advanced form of breast cancer and is now living with us taking radiation treaments. I promised my wife who I called after every round that I would win this one for her mom. After that it was war. I attacked the tree and the car next to me. Just ask Phil Paolini who was pitted next to me all weekend and ended up in the final with me. I would not even talk to him until after the race was over. I think you call that in the zone. Thank you NMRA you put on a good program and to National Trail Raceway for a good hooking track. Roy and Bryan Parker are putting an anti roll bar on the car and we will be heading to Pacemakers Dragway Park here in Mt. Vernon this weekend. I hope I can carry this high through this weekend. Hope everyone has a good safe season this year. Thanks again. Your Friend Bryan Hockenberry from the Parker/Hockenberry Race team........

Bryan,

You sure laid down the numbers as you ran through the Open Comp field. Nice job.

Take care and good luck.
