I use a local machinist for all my engine work and he just recomended using a regular Fel Pro head gasket. I have not run my combo yet. But it is a 306 with about 12.5:1 compression. Oh yeah, I also used head studs.

I've had good results with Fel-Pro 9333PT1 head gaskets w/ a single nozzle 200HP shot on a stock block 7k RPM 306 (arp studs also). They've held up better than any other gasket I've tried (other Fel-Pro p/n's included). They seal up great for the level I'm at... depends on how much spray you plan on putting to your motor :)
Worth looking into....

i run fel-pro 1011-1 or 1011-2 . i've only had one blown gasket in past 3 or 4 years . it came from running pump gas and shootting 275hp ! i have shot up to 400hp with race gas and these gaskets .
i like the 1011-1 best.

I just saw your question and just wanted to let you in on my success w/ head gaskets. I ran pro 5.0 for four years and have had big shots of nitrous. Now I run a supercharger which is even harder on head gaskets. The copper head gasket w/ o ring s used to be the thing that every body ran and which I did until just a few months ago. There is a new gasket called Cometic that is byfar and I repeat by far the best gasket onthe planet. You do not need any ring grooves in the head or block. It is simply the best.

I put Cometic head gaskets on my nitrous super street outlaw car this year. A 5.23 @ 139 in the 1/8th is the best sofar, haven't got to 1/4 mile it yet. 19 passes this year and doing good. I have the HP series.

ok this thread has caught my eye. i'm on the search for a head gasket to on my renegade setup(nitrous). with these cometic do you set the block and heads up like for copper. i put the o-ring in the head and the groove in the block. or is there a different way.

No, you don't do anything to heads or block. You put them on just like a normal set of head gaskets. Just got my super street outlaw car off the chassis dyno (DynoJet) at Total Engine Airflow where it made 1110hp on NOS at the rear wheels through a glide. Made 703hp @ the wheels on Motor alone. I Like These Gaskets.

No, I sold the heads, intake, rockers, headers to someone
in North Carlolina. I got a Set of Brodix Neal 202 heads from
Total Engine Airflow. They flow 433cfm/317cfm @ .800". T.E.A. also did the new Edelbrock "Glidden" intake and supplied me the Jesel rockers. I also installed a Danny Bee belt drive and 4.5" StraightLine performance stainless mufflers.
If you're looking for some raised runner TFS "R" heads, I have a set of castings that Brian Tooley started on. The roofs have been raised, the water ports welded up(to use a Yates style intake) and the spring pockets have been welded up but not remachined yet. These heads have no seats or guides. I'll take $600 for them, I have twice that in them. SAM
