Need to know ...what is the maximum flow numbers for a naturally aspirated 400+ cubic inch windsor?

If the intake, carb, are cam right then I would have to say somewhere in the 380cfm to 390cfm range for ultimate volumetric efficiency. The total airflow through a gasoline burning engine determines it's maximum HP. At peak power a racing engine will use 1.67 cubic feet of air (CFM) per minute for each HP it develops. For example, a 100 HP engine will use 167cfm. For Alcohol burning engines it will use 1.47cfm per HP developed. Hope this helps in your quest for max power.

Hey are you going to run in the Limited street class in Rockingham? I am myself but its looking like I will not be too competitive since the Big blocks and high $$ cars will be there.
We are just trying to get the car running right now.
Later.

Call Brian Tooley @ Total Engine Airflow 270-782-6397.
He is the best on cylinder heads.

I'm gonna try to run in Limited Street also, but I know that I won't be competitive...from what I understand Kenny has allowed other makes in this year and from what I hear a big block cheby is gonna show up, and he dominates the CCRA Natural Outlaw class.

I plan on coming to rockingham and race in the ssca's "pure street" class. I was ther in the spring of 2001. How fast are the cars going in pure street? Can you run two classes? could take out the bottles and run limited street too. How fast is that BBC car you are talking about.

The cars in pure street run anywhere from 5.20s to 5.80s. The chevy big block that runs Limited street I believe it runs 5.80s in the 1/8 Im unsure of what it runs in the 1/4.

JRRacing, what times does your car run? I'm thinking that I might not even try my hand at it this year, I saw in the rules at Holcombs site that it's a 16 car field, and with so many cars showing up I don't know if my car will even qualify. I just might have to move over to Open Comp:(

Our car has run mid 9s at more than 145mph but we have now changed a lot, making more power but having problems getting it down the track. It is a Jerico car also.

Oh yeah, I know...after seeing you run the Jerico at Rockingham a few years ago, I knew that was the direction for my car.

The Jerico is a lot of fun. I have thought about going to a Glide but still not sure as of yet. How fast has your Jerico car been?

The new motor in my car is a nitrous motor, but since I only have a 6 point cage in the car, I've been running it on muscle. It has gone consistent 10.30's on E.T Street tires (local 1/4 mile track requires treaded DOT approved tires and mufflers to run the 1/4). I just put a set of E.T Drags on my car along with more gear and a bigger carb so that maybe I can step it up enough to qaulify.
My best friend is a true Glide guy, and he has always tried to steer me to a glide....but after seeing my car run with the Jerico and seeing people's response to it .....he hasn't said anything else about a Glide :D

Hey Sniper!
I hate that you broke a rod! That sucks man! Did you run aluminum rods in that engine? If so how many passes were on them? We have all our aluminum rods cryogenticly treated, they last let me tell ya. I fell ill Saturday night an had to go back home but our car ran a 9.09@149mph. The tune is still rough, LETS HEAR IT FOR THE CARS RUNNING 9.0s WITHOUT WHEELIE BARS!LOL Take care buddy

Sorry to see ya break that rod Sniper....I'm the guy with the black stang that you were asking questions about the way I had my Moroso evacuation pump installed. If you ran 9.70's with the basic engine..you know the next engine is going to be strong ;) I ended up qualifying 14th, and Billy Bell dropped me in the first round, but I still had fun, met some neat people, and got a lot of ideas from cars in the class.
