View Full Version : exhausts
I'm recently thinking of changing my mufflers.Ryt now my car has Bassani 1 3/4 shorties,Pacifica Perfomance X-pipe(by MAC),& Flowmaster 2 chambers w/ dumps.I love the sound of this system, although it's a little loud.My concern is about how everyone's talking about how the X-pipes benefit from the straight thru, non chambered mufflers.I want something not as loud as the 2 chambers, but still sound very distinct & deep & not flappy like some. I've tried the Edelbrocks,Flowtech Terminators,& Mac Flowpaths & in the end, I ended up going back to the 2 chambers. They just sound the best in my opinion. The four mufflers I'm curious about are Dynomax's Ultraflo Welded,Hooker's Aerochamber,Ravin's Z-path,& the Spintechs.Any opinions would be helpful, remember also I'm using turn downs.
thanx, Nicsf50

I have on my 302 mac long tubes with an xpipe and DynoMax Ultra Flow Weldeds. It's totally different from a flowmaster. Car doesn't have that deep rumble sounds, but once you get about 3000 the car has an awesome sounding scream to it. Sounds like I"m turning twice as many rpms as it actually is. It's real raspy sounding just cruising. It's really either a love it or hate it sound, not many in between on them.

I have a set of 3" Mac Pros if you are interested. I bought them used. Nothing wrong with them, coating on them still looks new. Dump tips need to be straightened from were UPS dropped the box.
