View Full Version : Tire size on rear Welds
I currently have 15x9" Draglites,5 1/2" backspacing with 275/50/15 radials on my '88 coupe (rolled lips). It looks good, but I wanna go with the 15x10" rim with 6 1/2" backspacing to get that even meaner, fatter tucked in look.I know I that have to do some massaging to the inner side of the fenders, but what would be the biggest street radial tire that I can fit in there? It seems like everyone running the 10" wheels are all using slicks. Please help.
Thanx, NMRA

You might be able to squeeze a 325 under there if you had a 6-6 1/4" BS. I don't think you can beat enough in to get the 6 1/2" BS to work with the 325's. Maybe someone can give you better info that has experience with them. I went with 325's and a 7" BS but I have a TC rear and it's 3/4" wider per side then the normal stang rear.
Are 325's the next size up from a 295/50 or 275/60? Is there a such thing as a 285/60?
Thanks Stangfireman
