I went to the track last night and tried Ultraflows method of launching and laid down a 1.315 on the motor! A friend of mine came over from Mobile and caught some footage on a digital camera for me. It actually filmed my record setting sixty foot in a stock T-5, but I don't know how to put it on the site for everyone to see. It definitely carries the tires to the sixty foot lights.
I ran as fast as 104.11 in the eighth.....James:eek:

You're Insane! :D I can't believe that T5 is still in one piece:eek: ...congrats!

I wonder if that really is the best ever 60ft. on a T5... no one seems to have much to say, it seems.

I swapped over from the 28x10 Goodyear Eagles I ran most of the season, to a fresh set of M/T ET Drag 28x10.5's and ripped off a few 1.3 60ft.'s (1.342 best). I nearly stood the car on the bumper on the second pass I made on them... then had to go back through dialing in the suspension to work with the awesome hooking tires. From swapping tires alone, I dropped over into the 1.3 60ft range and immediatley turned my stang into a wheel stander.... M/T's are wicked!

Are you going to use spray with the t5 still in the car???

No. I plan on dropping in my 'glide from PA now. I know the T-5 would not survive the onslaught of a 600hp motor and a bigshot. Even if the tranny could take the abuse the Centerforce clutch would not. Besides, it's now about trying to get my car into the EIGHTS!! Congrats on your new low et. What is your mph in the eighth? You are just a **** hair away from a 9 second pass! All you need to do is hold your breath and that should be enough weight to break into the nines. Seriously though, do you have an aftermarket k- member and brakes? That's an awesome wheelstand!...James

8's on a single stage shouldn't be a huge barrier for you once the new tranny goes in ;)

I was running anywhere from 106.6 to 107.6 in the 1/8 with a best mph of 133.22 in the 1/4 on a 10.059 pass...

and I use a Griggs k-member and Aerospace brakes.

Gonna have to wait for next year to run the 9 :( ...I was trying to get there with the new tires, but fought the wheelie problem the last day out. Calmed it down enough to run a few 10.0's

I'm swapping the internals of the stock block over into the R block I've had for awhile and adding a second stage of nitrous for next year... along with a handful of other misc. changes. We'll be looking for a low 9 sec. pass ;)

Are you waiting until next year to add the spray and the tranny, or will you have some new times before the year is up?

I may put it in in the next month or so, but it's doubtful. I am in the military and trying to get into a master's program. I have many things to accomplish prior to applying next summer. I have to keep my priorities straight. I just built a 306 for one of my best friends and we'll be taking it to the track to tune the beginning of next month. I don't like to rush when I work on my car, so I probably won't be ****ing in my pants until next Feb. That's one advantage of living in Fl. The tracks open early and close late in the year due to the warm weather......James

I have an .AVI file of my wheelstand that I captured w/ my digital camera off my TV set while watching the VHS footage my mom captured, LOL... haven't been able to post it anywhere though, and I lack the technical savvy to convert the file to any of the other video formats....

any help would be great... ;)

Scott ...the NOVI 2000 + stock block should be interesting to see how long it lives. I finally split my stocker in half after running it for most of the season w/ a 200 shot... got lucky and noticed the loss in oil pressure before grenading everything all over the track. Upon tearing it down, I noticed the split right down the middle of the lifter valley.... Good Luck keeping everything together :)

ultraflo, sorry to hear about your motor. You were going to swap everything over to an SVO block any way, right? My brother is the computer guru, and I'll probably stop by and see him tomorrow. I'm sure he can download the video.....James:eek:

Maybe I can get it on here. I'll convert it to ASF or some other format--problem is Big Dawg limits files to 100k on here, unlike the Ford Mall...send it to robertelmo@carolina.rr.com I'll try...

Elmo,
I just got my e-mail account up and working again. I'll talk to my brother tonight and if he can't put it on a web page for me, I'll send you the file. I'm trying to shorten the file. Cox, which is my internet cable company allows 10 mega bytes of webspace per e-mail address. Anyway, hopefully soon my footage will be available for all to see!...James
