please read my post in the lounge and read the replys. i no i'm not alone out there. i'm one of those guys that just speaks out regardless of consequences, i will speak my mind, and take a close look at this because i can see things comin and alot of people are fed up with these ridiculous rules. lets face it the same burden is on us the outlaw racers as was the pro cars some years ago and we have to make some major changes to comply with new safety issues . why make it so difficult to build a car fo no reason at all. i can honestly say if that when i build a new car it will not be to nmra rules unless their are some major adjustments, it just doesn't make sense. this is a big hump to gamble on to see if your now premier class will indeed survive. just my opinion. i have been their from the very beginning and i have seen things come and go and i hope you take this information and seriuosly consider it and i hope you make the right decision as to the best interest for the racers and the sport in the future.

Lou:

We do take everything you say very seriously, it's just that Mike Bruns and Thom Bates don't read the message board every day. It's best to e-mail them directly, or NHRA if you have specific safety questions.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

thanks melissa , being an outlaw racer and trying to take advantage of the weight breaks in the class especially for a nos car god knows we need it, it is almost next to impossible to get all the weight out of the car that is required to meet your minimum standards. i am thankful that i can race my car for three more years but i would rather try to make the car safer by complying with the new saftey rules and making the necessary changes to the chassis but with adding all the extra pipe to meet the standards i just don't think the car can make the minimum weight in order to be competitive without ripping out the stock floors and frame and also loosing the glass windows for lighter lexan replacements and esentially the the car would definately be way stronger and safer with a normal back half chassis rather than stuff welded to the stock frame and floors.

I completely understand your dilema. And I am sure you are not the only one faced with these challenges! I'm sure if you emailed Thom Bates at tbates@promediapub.com he would be happy to help you with some ideas! We hope to see you in Columbus!

Lou,

As stated before in the past, if you would like to see a rules change, it must be in written form and emailed to nmrarules@promediapub.com for consideration by the whole rules committee. Making posts and starting polls here on this message board will not count, most of the committee do not visit here.

Thanks,
Thom

thanks thom, i will do that, never knew that ,well atleast you and a few others saw my ideas. my posts were not to critisize anybody either i think this year the nmra as a whole has made some positive changes and put forth a great effort to make the racers happy for example the tv coverage has been 150% better and the event staff has good positive attitudes this season that alone will make the biggest difference. i think some of my bitchen from last year actually opened some eye's! lol, i think you guys and girls are doing a great job this season . lets keep it up,hope to be back asap.
