NMRA Columbus. I paid for two cars to enter bracket racing. Unfortunately, it rained out Sunday, no one's fault. NMRA rescheduled the bracket portion for May 30, Memorial Day weekend, a weekend when I and probably many other people will be out of town on pre-planned mini vacations. Talked to National Trails and they said it's NMRAs doing and NMRA does not give refunds. Talked to an NMRA official and he rudely repeated the answer, even though I asked it in a nice way.
So basically, I gave $120 to NMRA or was robbed, whatever the perspective. After losing money like this at Maple Grove last season, where I couldn't use their 'offer', I'm a bit angry.
I'd have been happy with a free admission to National Trails bracket racing to use when I chose to, even though that's a LOT less than the $120 I spent. But no, no one at NMRA sees it that way - the customer is always wrong. I would have been happy with ANY crumb tossed my way rather than a rude response.
It's easy to see why the merchant area this year has shrunk considerably over the years when people are treated like this. You build a racing series one person at a time, and you can lose it the same way. I used to try to get to 3-4 races a year, but I won't anymore. It's FFW and local events for me. I have supported NMRA enough already.
Sorry - don't mean to rant, but I work hard for my money and don't like tossing it out the window...
