Would there be any disadvantage in having a hood where the cowl goes the whole way to the windshield on a N/A, carbed car? I know a few guys with these hoods, and I love the way they look, but they all have some sort of EFI or forced induction. Would I just be better off with the bolt on hood that I have now?
Thanks in advance,

cant imagine there would be an advantage to it. They come within an inch of the windshield i think. Wouldn't think you could get too much airflow thru there. If thats your goal. They do look awesome though!

FordGod, I think the boys in Hot Street would disagree with you. There is a significant amount of pressure at the base of the windshield and it has to go somewhere especially if there is only an inch between the hood cowling and the windshield. The higher the speed, the more pressure there is as well. One of the better working cowl hoods is on a new hotty that was featured in www.Hardcore50.com a few months back.

I agree with Andy & phreak. if you ever saw Billy Laskowski's cars the 85 or the new girl, you'll notice that the hood goes all the way back to the windshield. they run a carb & NO power adder. & they have always ran rather well!
