Either A) You're high, B) you've been spying, or C) by the grace of god stumbled upon a silly. Here's the story:
As a long time Chevy guy, I plan on building my first non Chevrolet powered car which just happens to be a Mustang to campaign in the Pure Street Class in the upcoming year. A couple of buddies are Ford guys and talked me into it, and I'm all about the heads up aspect of racing. Anyway, I know for a fact that painting the engine orange adds 15hp, so I'm painting the engine and car Chevy Orange to gain every advantage I know of on my first effort so I'm not embarrassed too badly. Even though it's gonna be slightly embarrassing driving the blue oval anyway for me, but I'll adjust. SO, when you're looking at my tail lights Mr. Fordgod, your suspicions will be indeed be confirmed.

Salad, it's kinda like a newly converted Conservative Republican who wandered in the dark for years as a lost Liberal Democrat, you too will see the light. You too will soon ask yourself, "what the h*ll was I thinking, how could I have been so wrong". It can only get better brother lol.

Wait , you guys don't know the half of it. I heard from my sources that he's so into the " orange is faster " philosophy that the dash, steering wheel, even the valve stems are expected to be color keyed. I've always thought that purple is the fast color anyway. So I figure i'll take a picture of the fornt of my car for SALAD to tape to his rearveiw mirror. ( so he thinks he's winning ) At least he won't get too discuraged with his first trip into blue oval territory...............10 holes suck!.................

Oh man this Salad guy must be a serious drug addict, anyone who can not let go of the chevy s**t after driving a mustang is deffinitly not right. And to go to the extremes of painting your dash board, steering wheel, and valve steems that is just simply horse s**t. I mean atleast just paint your car sivler or something silver is deffinitly a very fast color.:D

When I built engines, most of them Chevys, we would paint them Ford red, somewhat of an orange color from the 50's - 60's, and it would make them last a lot longer! The term "hugger" at my place of employment right now means that you are a "ball hugger" or an ass kisser. So anyone that would want to use hugger in the name of the color of paint would be kinda dumb. :D As far as the history of the Chevy/GM engine paint, it goes like this: 1) they started painting them "Chevy orange" in the begining, but they would leak so much oil, and mixing with road dirt it would make them black. 2) in the 80's they started painting them powdered blue, and it too would become black. So GM finally figured out that the perfect color would be....... black.
