Is it possible to cut a section out of the middle of a 10 hole rim and welding it to make it around 4 inches wide? I'd like a skinny tire up front, but want to keep the stock appearance. Does anyone know of anybody that has done this or know of anyone that can do this? I'm thinking of trying it myself, but wanted to know the pros and cons of completing such a task. Thanks.

i've seen adds in the back of various car rags for a company who did this type of mod. i believe one of the more recent mustang rags had a blue street sleeper lx with a set done. may have been the ladies issue, i think it was a female driver. looked like a pretty trick sleeper type trick, but a set of welds, ect would probly be lot cheeper. good luck.

You haven't dropped the 10 hole idea yet? those narrowed pony rims were pretty cool, but 10 holes? Hey there's a ford swap meet coming up on thanksgiving weekend at the columbus, ohio state fairgrounds. Try looking there. Just don't forget your coffee mug!

page 152 of november mm&ff ladies issue. those were ponys which caused problems finding tires according to article, 15 10 holes shouldn't be a problem tho.

I found a machine shop locally that will cut the rims, and a friend that welds aluminum. HOT DAMN, I'm gonna try it. I read the article about the 16 inch pony rims. I thought they were tough, also. The 15's shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, Im thinking for a while now about doing the same thing. Cutting the wheels wouldnt be a problem for anyone with a lathe that has a 16" swing or better, but the welding part scares me. Im a competent aluminum welder, but the wheels are cast aluminum, I feel they may have a bit too much porosity. Seeing how my car runs mid to high 5's in the eight, im kinda worried about having anything but the best on the front end, its been known to fall from the sky occassionally.

there is a guy here in Kansas City that has some narrowed 10 holes, I will try to see if he ahs any pics

Narrowed 10 holes? Oh my, and you are the same guy who wants to paint your car chevy orange, correct? I wanna know what kinda drugs you are on becasue i would so be interested in some of those. I woudl also sugjest that maybe you go to the swap meet this weekend and look for a pair of welds.
