What will happen if you install a aeromotive type red canister filter assembly, backwards?......anybody?

well, I am not really sure of the answer to this one. The reason I asked was because I was getting no fuel, anywhere, and thought maybe it was the filter. FYI, if anyones intersted, I found a loose fitting between the tank and the pump. Since I run an external pump, the pump was sucking air because of the loose fitting, and not fuel.
