Under the driver's side dash there's a metal tube. Is this tube just a brace? Will anything be effected if I cut it? Is there anything that needs to be cut away on the passenger side? I was thinking that I would have the roll cage go through the speaker holes and then downward to the floor mounting plate. Any pics would definately be appreciated! BTW, I am going with the wild rides cage.

Also, because you're welding so close to the roof of the car, do you guys replace the headliner or just toss something in between the part being welded and the roof(ie, aluminum foil) to help keep the fabric from burning up?

Also, if I'm just running in the 10's and 11's, do I still need the window net. I know it's required faster then 10.00 and 135, both of which I probably won't be eclipsing.

I know this isn't a rule question, but who knows... maybe the help I get from here will eleviate the need to ask questions later.

thanks!!

If your talking about the metal brace that your dash board it fastened to it will have to be notched or cut and repaired if your planning on keeping your factory dash board. I had my best luck with taking out the windshield. It makes things so much easier.

If you do not want to take out your head liner just wedge a piece of thin card board between the plastic and the roof, it works fine.

About the window net, not to be a smart azz, but I think you answered your own question.

Hope some of this helps

Maybe I can help. If you run a cage you have to have a window net. Di you have a notch back or hatch? If it's a hatch you can pull the head liner out thru the hatch aboue the cage. But here's how I do it.

Drill a 1 3/4 hole in the floor right under each roll cage bar where it sits on the floor. (4 holes) put the 6" x 6" inch plates under each tube while you fit the cage. When everything it tacked together pull the plates out under the tubing and let the cage drop thru the holes onto the garage floor. Now the cage is still in the car but a foot or so down from the headliner. Fully weld the cage and let it cool. Lift the cage up inside the car and put the plates back under the bars. Weld the plates and cage to the floor of the car. Add side bars and diaganal bars and your done.
