Robin or anyone else that has or used the MSD Progamable 7 box.
Is it worth the money?
If so, what are the best accessories to go with it?

Damn I hate giving up secrets..........;) oh well. It's a long story. Don West (Dyno and Head Guy) had purchased on just after they came out. Problem was none of the dyno customers ever wanted to go throught the trouble hooking it up. So he lent me his until I got one of my own.
Last year I was having problems being inconsistant on my ability to hook. One time I would spin then it would hook. That only got worse when we built the new engine this year.
The Programable Digital 7 enabled me to kill a little power at the initial hit of the tire. I also could have different retards at every gear change. I was taking out about 22 degree's of timing at the release of the line loc for a certain time that is adjastable up to 2 seconds. I won't tell you how long, just that it's in incriments of .10 of a second. If a track was hooking I would have less retard at the hit of the tire.
On the Factory Stock engine the indiviual cylinder retard was worth a little power. On the Real Street engine it's worth more. The more radical the engine or power adder the more it should help. Of course using an egine dyno to perfect this will save you lots of time. Also a data logger used in testing helped me find what the launch retards worked best.
I use the system seperate from the PMS or DFI, I remove the spout and use the MSD box for my timing curve and retards.
I think that it's worth it.
THere is a hand held controller for use in the car, that works well in staging should you want to up your launch RPM or take more timing out.
The coil, and the fiber optic cable to sync the #1 cylinder. Also their shift light so that you can program different shift points for the different gears.
Hope this helps.
