just curious to see what kind of HP and torque everyone is making and at what RPM. Real numbers, not what you think.

Kevin,
I doubt you will be getting accurate information from the people in this class. They will post nothing rather than post false info.

Front running h/s cars make 2+ per cube.

Peaks are right around the 8K mark.

Thinking of coming over?

That' s not very nice Chris :)

The "people in this class" are very nice, friendly, and like to share information :D

Anyhow to answer the above question TRUTHFULLY:
809hp @ 7800 RPMS
572trq @ 6500 RPMS (if I recall)
402ci Windsor w/Glidden Heads

I been To alot of the races, and yes most of the racers have been nice. Yes, I've been thinking about racing 2 events with the NMRA. Got to get this 4150 right first. Lost 3Hp and alot of torque from the 4500.

You lost a lot of torque? 612? Your making more than me already :)

That torque should get your 60' in the high 1.20's or so...

Must be a 3.800 or better stroke

Kevin,
Sounds like a stoudt little combo! With you being 6 cubes down from Kenny, You should be right in the ballpark!

It is generally accepted that the dominator is worth a tenth over a 4150 style carb. The torque number could easily explain why!

Kenny, I KNEW I would get you fired up! Hehehehe.

If you run SB I assume you know Duane Busch. Perhaps he could tell you what to expect for loss with a 4150. He had our 4150 on his flow bench and to say the least he was impressed. Hope you have a Pro Systems Carb, Patrick makes dammmmmmmn nice stuff that pretty much flies right out of the box.

Good people in H/s. Hope to see you come and play!

My '02 motor made:
802@7700
577@6700w/4150
831@7700
581@6800w/4500
Pulls were made w/a small cam that wouldn't pull past 8500. I changed to a bigger cam than I dynoed with.
I can't say how much ET the 4500 was worth...I didn't do much testing this year with it. It may be too big (1250cfm), because it mph'd better but no Et gain. Seemed to have trouble recovering well from shifts. However, when the air is killer, LOOK OUT! Had a 3.72 330ft. back in Feb. with the 4500 on.

Damn Duane that should be in the teens or 0's!! Go show those FFW guys how to do it :)

No, really don't Duane. Met him in Atlanta 2 years ago, I was there with Kevin Morris. Yea, the PRO system carb is sweet, that's what 4500 is. The 612 on torque was with 4500. Only made around 580 on the 4150. I would like to come run with you but will need to change the intake and carb. I run FFW because there are 6 races close to me. Hey, they are a little different in rules but it is still racing. I remember when there was NO ford racing.

Jeeeezus Tim,

No wonder your breaking trannies and having trouble getting a convertor right. They are killer numbers for a 360. Gonna slip a stick back in her?

TIM, YOUR MANIFOLD AND CAM MUST BE HUGE TO PEAK AT THAT RPM...MY BIGGEST CAM WILL ONLY PEAK AT 8200. MUST BE THE EXTRA STROKE... 400'S TEND TO PLATEAU ABOVE 8000. ALSO, THAT 535 TQ NUMBER SEEMS A LITTLE HIGH..THAT SHOULD BE 805HP AT 7900...
YOU SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO HAVE A CONVERTER THAT WILL LOCK UP DECENT AT A 8000-8300 STALL SPEED. I JUST WONDER HOW THE VALVETRAIN WILL LIVE AT 10000:)

WELL CHRIS,WE TRIED OUR JERICO BEHIND IT LAST WEEK AND WE BROKE IT.IM UP IN THE AIR WHAT TRANNY RIGHT NOW.I HAVE TWO BROKEN ONES RIGHT NOW.DWAYNE YEAH I WAS SURPRISED BY THE TORQUE ALSO BUT DYNOS DOWN HERE IN FLORIDA ARENT EXACTLY ACCURATE SO I FIGURE ABOUT 15 ON HP @ TQ ON ANY BODY ELSES DYNO BUT WELL SEE IN MARCH.TIM

IT IS A GOOD POSSIBILITY THAT THE DYNO'S TACH IS OFF...IF YOU MADE 535TQ@7200 IT WOULD BE 733HP@7200 AND 792@8700 OR SO. MOST 360'S IVE SEEN PEAK @8700-8800...535TQ IS AWESOME FOR A 360! CHECK THE DYNO TACH TO AVOID TURNING THE MOTOR MORE THAN NECESSARY.

AS FOR RUNNING IN BANDIT AGAIN: MAYBE. SEEMS I HAVE BETTER LUCK CONCENTRATING ON ONE CLASS, SO I DOUBT IT...
I ENJOY THE COMPETITION IN NMRA...NOT ENOUGH CARS IN BANDIT.

NO IM NOT THE SAME TIM.DUANE MY MOTOR PULLS TO 9,600 RPM I JUST RAN IT WITH MY JERICO LAST WEEK AND IT RAN REAL GOOD BUT BROKE THE TRANS (AGAIN). IM TRYING A NEW CAMSHAFT AND IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING OUT. THE DYNOS TACH IS ON THE MONEY I THINK THE HP #S MIGHT BE A LITTLE HIGH BUT NOT MUCH. I JUST HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT TRANNY TO USE. I DONT THINK THE WEIGHT FOR THE STICK IS WORTH IT,BUT MY CAR IS TO HEAVY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WEIGHT FOR A 360. RUNNING OUT OF MONEY TO KEEP TESTING THIS CRAP!TIM

Our experience (and observations of others) has been that the manuals that they allow in this class are liabilities (albeit FAST liabilities). Unfortunately for you, Tim, and for all of us, NMRA does not allow good 3 spd autos in this class. Their "reasoning" is that people will spend too much money on the transmissions. Hmmm, now, with the two broken transmissions you have there on your shop floor are you in it for less than if you'd bought 1 stout 3 spd auto????? I seriously doubt it. C'mon NMRA, if you're reading this thread keep this in mind for next year! Allowing better drivetrain parts is cheaper all the way around in the long run! OK, I'm off the soapbox! Don't give up Tim, sounds like you may have a winner on your hands.....:)

What 3 speed autos do they not allow, besides the Torque Flights? Are we talking about Lenco, Bruno, etc stuff? Just curious...

I run the Turbo 400 3 speed and it's bulletproof as they come! Best money I think I've ever spent. I broke about everything possible last season except my 400 and Chance converter.

I've heard the Torque Flights are worth a little et but they need to be rebuilt ever 15-20 passes etc.? I have no idea myself, all I know is I ran all season on my 400 without ever touching it...

Turbo 350:( next time you go up to CTS take a look at my 350 thats been doing bench durability since 2000:( Thats the trans that they use Torque flight parts on....

Happy Holidays to everyone:)
BTW Tim stop talking about all this testing your doing right now...
I'm looking out my window right now and it's snowing so it could be worse

Kenny, I was always told that the Th400 had alot of internal rotating mass. Our Dynamic Glides have been wonderful as far as reliability! Maybe you should give one of those a shot. I know you had one from another company, but I think Dynamic makes a better piece.

With all but 600'/lbs, I would be afraid to run a low gear like a TH400 has. I was concerned our car would be riding the parachute pack and wearing holes in it.

Hehehe

Ken,

We're interested in either trying a TF or TH350. There are several companies making nice stuff for these transmissions and they aren't any more expensive than a G-Force (with clutch).

I don't want Lenco's or brunos in but I would like a wider range of autos in this class.

We thought they might allow some nicer stuff in to encourage HS racers to try Pro-Stock. Perhaps they want to keep those racers separate???

Happy Holidays!

I hear you on the Pro-Stock deal... I've been waiting to see those rules come out to see what they did about transmissions! I'm not about to buy a second trans setup w/converter etc. just to race the Pro Series...

Chris I've kicked around trying a Dynamic Glide but after that Atco deal I just haven't done it yet. After blowing that PA Pro-Mod glide up and taking out half my valve train the Glide put a bad tast in my mouth. I'll have to talk with Dynamic and see about trying one of their pieces next year.

Also Skinny's actually making my wheelie bars as we speak! So I'll be able to do some testing with that TH-400 with a little more power :)

I talked to Autometer about coming out with a polish shift light. You know, the one with the arm that smacks the driver upside the head instead of lighting the light....

Since we use a standard pattern shifter, it was also considered that we simply put a set of electrodes on the Domes elbow... At the desired RPM it would fire a cattle prod level of current into his elbow and we think it would make him stuff his hand forward and get the shift completed on time.

If you would like to do some beta testing with us, let me know!

Hehehehe
