Do they slow you down? Like a C6 would im thinking of using one with a 3000 converter and shift kit would i go faster if i had a C4?

C6s are power sucking pigs.

You would be better off with a well built AOD or C4.

Performance Automatic offers both.

Either C4 or AOD will hold up. If you are getting AOD , go for non-locked up converter and hardcore parts internally.

A well build AOD "may" be a bit slower than C4. Approx 1-2 tenths slower, but at least they don't robbed power like C6.

C6 are good trans, but heavy and does robbed power.
