I have a question regarding the position of the rollbar vs. the position of the driver seat. I have a 2004 Cobra that has the stock seats in it and it will have a 6 pt. rollbar. Based on that, on page 215 of the 2005 NHRA rule book it shows distance measurements of the driver helmet to the main hoop.
What do you do in the case of factory seats (my case) in which the factory head rests are quite thick? The rulebook shows a measurement of 6" from helmet to main hoop. What distance do I need to have the cross bar of the main hoop from the seats? Do I need to brace the seats to the cross bar?
Is this rule just for seats without a headrest?
What is the ruling regarding the seat being bolted/braced (page 224) to the cross bar on the main hoop?
