Good news: I have a 4.6 DOHC motor setup for blower/turbo application. Has 96-98 heads with $1500 worth of port work. I was in a hurry to complete the motor at the time the heads were done and did not have time to flow the heads as a result. The heads have stock 98 cobra cams, all stainless steel ferrea valves, modmax springs, etc. All timing chains, sliders, and chain tensioners are new from ford when the motor was built. It also has coil on plug setup with black PPG painted valvecovers. (approx. 200 miles of street driving, 4- 1/8th mile runs, and the rest car shows) The upper induction is a sheetmetal box type intake sitting on a heavily modified 98 model lower. It has the throttle body facing toward the firewall and it is made to house a 90mm accufab unit. The shortblock consists of a cobra aluminum block, cobra steel crank, manley H beam rods and dished CP pistons. No expense was spared building this motor.
Bad news: Two days ago the oil pump gears broke and it obviously lost oil pressure. I immediately shut the motor down, but I'm sure the damage was already done. I did take the front cover off to verify that the pump was the problem, and it is. I caught this mishap quickly, and tried to minimize damage, but I am sure you will have to at least put a new set of bearings in the motor and an oil pump. I don't believe anything else is hurt because the shortblock still spins over by hand with normal resistance.
I know what it costs to build a motor like this, but I also know you will have to spend some money to get it back up to operating condition, and it is unfortunate for me, but I will sell the complete motor minus throttle body and injectors to the best offer. This motor ran 112 MPH in the 1/8 at 3200 lbs. with only 13 lbs of boost. If interested, please call me at 770 598-7738, I do not have time to respond to e-mails. I might be intrested in partial trading for some nice 302/351 pieces.
