The Game

Ok gang......it's not quite the new year yet but it is the "off-season". (And if you've tried to get into a Wal-Mart lately you know just how "off" most people are!) Time once again for the "Who's running what class/what combination for the new season" thread.
Several modular racers are leaving the heads up classes for one reason or another. Cosby and Mullane are out of Factory Stock. Tymensky is apparently out of Hot Street. Who knows what Svinicki is trying to do. Looks like Haywood is still in SSO. Overheard at the Dallas FFW race........Mike Johnson bought Brit Floyd's Pro car and is going to go with a mod motor in FFW Outlaw. Also rumors of several new modular powered Drag Radial cars coming out this year. Not sure if Tim Palmer is going to wade into NMRA SSO or stick to the Clash of the Titans races.
So let's hear it......who's doing what this year? Tell ya' what...I'll go first.
The '98 GT is getting a major overhaul this winter. A new DTA-built, ModMax 302" stroker engine is going in shortly. Up top, a set of DTA fully prepped PI two valve heads featuring ModMax oversize stainless steel valves, ModMax camshafts and HD Valvespring kit. A fully ported and modified Bullitt intake with an Accufab elliptical bore throttle body will receive plenty of intercooled boost from the new Pro Turbo Kits T-60 turbo setup. This is an all new kit for the '96-current two valve cars. A Performance Automatic Super Comp 4R70W will do the shifting with the help of a PI Industries 3000 rpm converter. Out back, a fully prepped and reinforced 8.8 from Parson's Differentials with 3.73 gears, Moser Engineering 33 spline spool and axles and a T/A cover will have help from a full Wolfe suspension package. Front suspension will be a complete setup from AJE. Weld Pro Stars and Mickey Thompson rubber will round out the package. Body enhancements are a new 4" Stealth Fiberglass windshield length hood, Saleen front and rear valance, and a Steeda race wing. No more slow-assed GT for me in Mod Motor class!!!!
Something completely unexpected is going to hit the Modular Shootout 2V-Normally Aspirated class this year......and it's not a Mustang!!!! Expect a big bore, high compression two valve engine with serious breathing capabilities, a Jerico transmission and a full compliment of chassis tricks. Yeah......time to play The Game.
Ok....now it's ya'lls turn.
