OK guys...need some help on how to do my serpentine belt...
I have taken off the power steering and the a/c..now, how do I route the belt???
Do I go over the tensioner now somehow??? Do I have to make some kind of custom bracket for the alternator to get tension on the belt now??
What about belt length?? It looks like a 43 inch belt would work...
Thanks,
Paul

Are you using a electric water pump, or are you wanting to run the the water pump with the serpentine belt?

I put a standard rotation water pump on my car from Stewart components. This allows to you to bypass everything except the crank, alternator, and water pump pulleys and not have to modify the tensioner at all.

Yes..I am going to use the belt driven water pump...
This is what I think would work...
1st - take the tensioner off and grind the little nub off the back where it goes into the bracket...
2nd - then I will just route a belt over the tensioner pulley (instead of under) and just crank on the pulley and tighten up the tensioner.
The tensioner will act more like an idler pulley know but the belt should be tight enough...
What do you guys think??

Put the $60 water pump on like I suggested and you don't have to modify anything and you get a lot more belt wrap around the water pump pulley.
