Stock wheel tub and mini tub with stock plastics?

I have a 91 coupe, wanted to know if i add a strip of 2" metal between the two halves of the tubs if i can still keep my stock plastics and back seat. Just wanted to know if anyone out there has done it? Thanks

My car (93 Hatchback) was mini-tubbed (will fit 28x10.5W) and still has the stock plastic/back seat, although I'm not sure how much metal was added. The plastic doesn't fit right, but you don't notice unless you look.

It'll fit but not perfect.

use a heat gun to warm the plastic as you screw it down and it will fit real nice

My car is mini-tubbed with the stock tubs and the plastic never needed to be modified. I was able to fit a 12" rim with a 325 and still have lots of clearance. I have pics if you would like to see. The key is to cut away the spring perch...basically go right to the frame rail. I have a 15x12 with 7.5bs
