Not trying to stir the pot....well maybe a little :) What were the 60 foot times on those bottom 8 second passes? I was under the impression that most were in the mid 1.3's? Is this true?
What are the BFG's capable of? I know the Mickeys have been in the high 1.2's. Just curious if we'll see 7's in '06.

I hate to say it but I think a 7 second pass is very possible, I heard the air wasn't all the great in FL.
Wait till Route 66 comes around...
John, awesome job on the tree!

LOL! I know this subject has got really heated at times and people are split on the issue  but if Eric had a 1.32 60' time and went 8.18.......what would he have run with a 1.28 60' time??? I know one guy that has gone 1.28 on a 325/50R15 MT DR.....are the BFG's that far off? ;)

there is a huge differance in the mickey's to bfg. i went a 1.37 on the 8.24 pass. with the same tune and a little harder launch i can go easy 1.2? 60's. the chance of 7' is not highly possible but 8.0 we probaly will see.

They lied. Try taking a cruise to the Bahamas in a canoe, and then take the same cruise on an ocean liner. Size matters! :D

This is always one of my favroite threads, kill's about an hour out of the day with the imagination running wild of who could run 7's if the condition is right.
Chip Provenza let me down when he missed running a teen by oh so close last year. :D

BIG statement when 8.18 was laid down in the first 10 passes of the year. its coming for sure, but i think it will be this year. the way i see it is this, i am a retard(rookie) and ran 9.05 with a little 2v with a novi 2000. ifind it hard to believe that all you guys with years more experience and knowledge will not find a way to run 7.99 with tons more motor and MILLIONS more power adder. its all b.s. and talk, i know that but with how close and competitive and the number of cars running low numbers in bradenton i just cannot beleive it will not happen.
i wish i would have listened to my tuner and just built the 5.4 4v that he wanted me to last year and i would have to say that i would give you that 7 second nmra pass, maybe it would be another driver but the combo would do it.
btw, have you sold your car yet Tim, i have a friend of mine who may want it?

7's are starting to look like a real possibility. i just got off the phone with chad. he went 8.38 @ 172. so what you say..... his 60' was a 1.55  he's been a best of 1.33 so far.

With all due respect, Tim Johnston said that 7's weren't possible given the power levels you guys are currently at..... ;)

i didn't say you were gonna see a 7 i said the possibility is there. a 8.0x or low teen is around the corner. 2 tenths in the 60 is worth at least 3 tenths in overall et.

I'm with you. I think 8.0's/8.teens are right around the corner. Just don't tell Tim I said that....:p
Any of you guys planning to run in the Milan Drag Radial class this summer?

Anyone that has seriously raced for a while can tell you that to go from 8.18 to 7.99 is freakin HUGE. Eric had a 1.32 60' on that pass. You are not going to see much better than that in NMRA trim. I really don't think you will see an 8.0X this year let alone a 7.9X. It would be real hard for an NMRA trim DR car to go 7's with a slick on them. You would be suprised at how much they don't pick up with slicks!

i went 8.01 with slicks. i also pedaled the car for 1.4 seconds. had a 1.25 60' on that pass. i feel i can go a 7.98-99.

Was that in nmra trim? I thought you had the 91 on it then? Still you know what I am saying. It would be hard enough to go a 7.99 on a slick let alone a bfg. In nmra trim.

i had the 85mm on it and weighed 3190, so i guess i was 10lbs shy of being nmra legal. other than the slicks everything else was how i run the car in drag radial. i haven't made a full pass with the 91 on it. plus i was 30hp shy when i went the 8.01. dont get me wrong, i personally dont think a 7 will happen anytime soon. but then again i could be proven wrong, i certainly dont rank way up there when it comes to power rankings. i do hope to go a 7 this weekend in renegade.
