View Full Version : Bracket Points Series?

NMRA ever consider adding a points championship to the bracket series?There are plenty of bracket racers who usually show up at the events, and the prestige of winning a championship will draw racers to multiple events. I know Fun Ford Weekend doesn't have a bracket points series, and this is one possible way of boosting racer turnout. It would be nice to have a points system for all classes.

I think that would be a good idea. Earn points at 5 out of 8 events and crown a champ in all 3 brackets.

That may increase car count, but most bracket racers come out only because it is Ford only and at a track that is close. I wish I had the timed to follow a series and I would be try to make as many as possible.

Time that is why i said claim 5 out of 8 possible races. Choose races close to you. We race at National Trails, and we are planning on running 4 or 5 NMRA races this season. Their are people that travel with other racers that the brackets. I just think it would be idea to have bracket champs. We have a good time with the NMRA thats why i think it's good idea. You just have to buget your time for what you want to do.THANKS

i got a flyer sent to me and it says that the bracket classes are for 1/8 mile. is that true?

Points series ?? I could follow that. And earning points at 5 of the 8 races would be good too.

It's true for the Georgia and Kentucky races. All the rest are 1/4 mile. It's done however the local track does their weekly bracket series.

Reynolds and Bowling Green have their weekly brackets on the 1/8 mile, so the bracket race at the NMRA event is the same in hopes of attracting more local racers.
