I was wondering what kind of exhaust set up most of you drag radial guys run? I have heard Hoppers car at the track and I think that car sounds gross (that's a good thing). I thought most of you guys run just bullet mufflers connected to the colletor? I run a 1990 mustang w/ a 306 and an F1R procharger. The car would probably be most compared to a renegade car but has an air to air intercooler and a solid roller cam. I run a set of 1 7/8 kooks header with an X pipe exhaust and 3" bullets. I bracket race the car and I was wondering f jst putting the bullets right after the colector woud hurt anything?

anything straight through, i took off a set of spintechs on the dyno one day and picked up 23 rwhp with a lot more fuel. after that i bought a set of dynomax bullets and they work just fine

Did you bolt the bullets right onto the collector or do I have to do additional exhaust work? I am assuming you had to put the mufflers back on because of D/R rules.

i used band clamps from the collector to the muffler and just welded a hanger to the tranny mount from the turndowns.
that was last year, don't really know what i am doing now with a turbo setup
but yeah, rules are rules

What size we're the spintechs? We're nearing completion of our d/r ride , and are using 4" collectors , 4" x-pipe , and 4" Spintech/Dr. gas mufflers. Do you think these mufflers will hurt us?
