I use screws. Infact if my off-set was right I would have bead-locks like Peter Champani.

Screws also caused my tires to shake. You simply need to add more air-pressure. After seeing how much the tire was spinning on the rim, you will also want to screw them.

How will rim screws make a tire shake, chatter or bounce when you launch the car. Is it a weight thing? Does the tire moving on the rim allow for a softer launch? Or is the radial tire bead strong enough to hold the tire to the rim?

Without screws the tire is allowed to spin on the rim so for some reason it helps with tire-shake. A radial is nothing like a slick. The slick can absord the shock while appling power due to the bias-ply side wall. The radial side-wall is less forgiving.

I still say screw the rim, or beadlocks with a radial.

Does the rim width have any factor in choosing whether to
run screws or not ?
