PLEASE READ ALL THE DETAILS
OK, I NEED HELP SELECTING MY IGNITION BOX. MY PROBLEM IS THAT I HAD BEEN SO FOCUS ON MY ENGINE, DRIVETRAIN, FUEL SYSTEM, AND SUSPENSION THAT I HAVE NOT DONE ANY HOMEWORK ON THE IGNITION SYSTEM, SO I DO NOT WANT TO WAIST MONEY BUYING THE WRONG PART OR SOMETHING I'M NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO TAKE AVANTEGE OF OR NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOR MY FOR MY CAR. I SEE ALOT OF CAR LIKE MINE WITH THE DIGITAL PROGRAMABLE BOXES THAT ARE HAVING PROBLEMS AND ONLY BECAUSE I THINK THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING, WELL I REALLY DON'T WANT TO BE IN THE SAME SPOT. SPECIALLY WHEN THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I BUILDING SOMETHING AT THIS LEVEL.
MY SET UP GOES LIKE THIS
FOX BODY COUPE
427ci DART BLOCK TW R HEADS TEA STG 3. CAM INNOV SOLID ROLLER
PRO SYSTEMS DOMINATOR
EDELBROCK FOGGER E2 NOZZLES + EITHER ANOTHER EDEL FOGGER OR DIFFUSER PLATE FORM SPEEDTECH AFTER I GET THE CAR WITH THE FIRST FOGGER RUNNIG ON THE MONEY
HAVE A TRANSKING GLIDE WITH NEAL CHANCE CONV ON THE WAY
8.8 WITH UPR PRO REAR SET UP STRANGE SNGLE ADJ SHOCKS COIL OVERS
64" WHEELIE BARS MINI TUB WITH 29.5 X 10.5 ON 12" WHEELS
UP FRONT IS A PA K MEM. NEW LAKEWOOD 90/10 COIL OVERS WITH 200 SPRINGS. CAR HAS TO WEIGHT 2900 LBS WITH ME IN IT
I TRY TO CUT NO CORNERS WITH MY SUSPENSSION TO USE AS MUCH TORQUE AND POWER OUT THE LINE TO KEEP UP WITH THE BIG BLOCK AND TURBO CARS ON THE LOCAL TRUE TEN FIVE EVENTS. MY LOCAL TRACK ARE TOTALLY DOMINATED BY BBC BUT THEY HAVE TO WEIGHT AT 3200
NOW WHAT IS THE IGNITION SET UP THAT I CAN USE WITH OUT MELTING MY BRAINS AND MY MOTORS. I KNOW ON SOME OF THE LOCAL EVENTS DON'T ALLOW ELECTRONICS. DOES THE PROGRAMABLE MAKES IT AN ELECTRONIC CAR WITH THE FEATURES IT HAS?
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO MAKE THIS SET UP RUN 5.00 ON THE 1/8
THANKS IN ADVANCE

First off the 90/10 need to go. The MSD 7531 sounds like the way you need to go.

i though about using the 7531, but don't you have to run a labtop to use the 7531 so then i started looking into the 7al-2 or 7al-3 that i think would be a better way for me, since i really don't know much about fine tuning an ignition system.
would i be ok runnig the non-programable boxes and what works best

I second both of those recomendations.

THAT'S WHAT I WANTED TO RUN IS THAT TO OLD NOW DAYS
I DON'T THINK I'LL BE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTEGE OF THE FINE TUNNING FEATURES OF THE 7531 LIKE INDIVIDUALLY TUNING EACH CYLINDER OTHERS

You can use it , but it only has one retard built in. I had to get a seperate MSD multi step retard to do what i wanted, but will be getting a #7531 when funds allow, but a RacePak is first on list.

I WAS CONFUSING THE 7520 YOU HAVE WITH THE 7AL-3 (7230)
I THINK THE 7AL-3 WOULD WORK GRATE FOR ME. I FEATURES A 4 MULTI-STEP RETARD, 3 RPM LIMITS AND 20% MORE SPARK THAN THE 7520
IT ALSO LOOKS VERY EASY TO USE. DO YOU THINK IS A GOOD WAY TO GO IF I DON'T USE THE 7531
THANKS ALOT SAM

msd offers a handheld programmer, but you cant really fine tune it like you can with a laptop.im purchasing a 7531 myself. if you look on racingjunk.com theres a guy selling new ones for 699 shipped and some on ebay for 719 shipped. those are the best deals ive found and trust me ive been looking for a while.

You could probably use a 7530 or it is a 7530T. You can get them new for under $600.

I HIT THAT LINK, AND SOUND LIKE A NICE PIECE. THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE USING THIS PROGRAMABLE BOXES WHERE DO YOU LEARN TO USED THEM AND DO THE TUNING RIGHT. I DON'T THINK I WANT TO LEARN AS I GO AND END UP HURTING MY ENGINE. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM THE GUYS THAT ARE USING IT. HOW CAN I LEAR TO FINE TUNE ONE OF THIS

The only way to learn how is to either get someone to help you or just figure it out and tune it your self.
The 7530 box has retards for each stage of nitrous and you can ramp out timing when the car is launched and bring the timing back in either by RPM or time. These are just the basics, the box will do more.
I was able to spray a 400 shot right off the transbrake and hook stock suspension by using the retard features. Take some power away on the launch and ramp it back in.
Tuning these varies from track to track. Some tracks will hold more power than others. Once you get a close tune, it becomes easy to try a little more or less timing or ramp speed. I sometimes make tuning changes every pass.
