Anyone use AJE Drop Spindles w/double adjustable struts?

Pros/Cons??????

I am currently using 93 spindles with QA1 single adj struts. AJE kmember & a arms. Trying to cut some more weight off.

The only problem is with the AJE coil over tube that is attached to the spindle. You must make your compression setting on the strut, then install the strut into the tube. If you want to readjust (compression) you must remove the strut from the tube again. Extension is adjusted from the top of the strut under the hood. They do work very well.

that kind of sucks.

I have a set of these with the GAB non adjustable struts. I have been looking for some adjustable inserts myself. Like morepower said, the koni inserts are adjustable from the bottom which necessitates removal.

I'm looking for some inserts that at bare minumum would adjust from the bottom side, where I could drill a small hole for adjustment.

I just bought a set with non-adjustable struts and AJE a-arms. I am having trouble installing the a-arms on the struts. The top of the ball joint where the castle nut is is not big enough to be a precision fit when installed on the strut assembly. I measured a stock one and it is about .030 bigger than the AJE. When you install the castle nut it just bottoms out but doesn't tighten up agianst anything. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Are you sure the struts and a-arms are both of the same body code? ie sn95 or fox?

That sounds like a possible miss match.

They are suppose to be for a Fox. I am going to call Anthony Jones and see what he says about it.

AJE said they sometimes make the hole in the bottom of the strut too big and the ball joint will not tighten up solid. He said put a little shim in it to make it tight. I don't mind fixing stuff but when you pay high dollar for it you expect better quality. Oh well.

The AJE stuff is considered to be good, but they are no Santhoff, but then again they are about 1500 cheaper, and on the shelf, versus a 3-4 week wait in the off season.

I'm not blasting on the AJE's, heck I own a set. I think they are a good value for the money.

It is rare to see a "bolt on" part, that doesn't require a couple of hours of fabrication to make it right, at least right to me.

yeah for the wait time & the $ i might as well just go to a full spindle mount set up.

I wanted to buy the Strange GT Strut package but they are about $2500 for single adjustable and $2900 for double adjustable and then you have to buy springs too. They look like a nice piece though.

AJE made a round knob (with holes in it) that attached to the compression adjuster screw on the strut & machined a slot in the tube, down by the bottom that lined up with the holes in the knob. so you can stick a small screw driver into the slot & make adjustments by turning the knob.
so I can get to the adjuster on the botton of the strut without taking it out of the tube.
AJE did that when I got a set of Konis from them. I had to send the spindle assemblys to AJE to have it done.
it was well worth the extra $ & time to be able to adjust compression by just crawling under the car.

That sounds good, did not know they would do that.
As for the spindle mounts, make sure you check out santhuff, VERY nice products.
