fox body brakes

need some advice on getting the brakes better, for now im still using 4 lug rotors, car has manual brakes. what can i do to improve the stopping/holding power of the brakes? i want to be able to get the car to leave better off the footbrake and the brakes just want hold the car. i dont have to worry about this if i use the transbrake. need any and all .02

Who's manual brake conversion do you have?
I ground the master cylinder piston rod provision on the pedal off and rewelded it up about an inch higher if you are able to do this it would give you more mechanical advantage.

I still have to pump the brakes up before I footbrake the car, but it holds itself at the starting line.
