Yeah, I guess that's not really signicant....guess it only matters if we start talking millimeters on turbo inlets or something.......LMAO! That's Flying Jack....

I don't know who Jack is :D But it is flying, that's for sure, maybe and I am being serious here, we will see 7-teen's in a few years on 28 x 10's.

7.35@193 with a 4.80 in the 1/8th on that pass, the following run was a 4.76 in the 1/8th, the car spun on the top, do the math boys, that's a 7.29 or better. If you can't run with the BIG DOGS, go hide at NOPI. Like Justin said, BURTON'S COMIN FOR YA!!!!! Great job Don! Keep up the good work!

First off I want to say congrats to Don for being the second car to go 7.30's on a 28x10.5... We know how hard it is to go that fast on this tire and if those numbers are the facts its very impressive.... Us doing it with the 94 just shows how much we are outgunned... Last year we won SSO with a lot of effort and driver skill.. 2 finals were won on a holeshot and 3 other round wins as well... so its not going to be the faster car that always wins but the one that stays together and is the most consistent on raceday........

If you can't run with the BIG DOGS, go hide at NOPI

A. until the end of the season we still have the #1 on our car so I think its safe to say we are still running with the big dogs!

B. No matter what, there is almost always someone bigger, badder and faster then you... which is probably the reason its so hard to repeat in this class.

C. We are not hiding we are running for not 1 but 2 championships! So in my eyes we are not hiding but trying to improve on what we already have, 1 SSO championship...

And for the record I argued the point long ago that a big block nitrous car was going to be the ticket... long before this post.... think back when Joe ran 7.70's what 4 years ago!

Pat, correct me if I'm wrong but the 94mm you guys ran at WFC last year was not a "straight" 94mm either.

speer13
05-11-2006, 12:51 PM
John it had some curves! kinda like the NOPI chicks that were hiding with........:D no it wasnt a straight 94mm and we really pushed the limits of everything we had to go that fast... now were bringing a spoon to a gunfight and even the good driving cant bail us out anymore.... I know first hand a blower car has gone 7.40 and 4.86 to the 1/8th in nmra trim... we are no where near that.... mmmm nopi chicks maybe we should just go hide with them :p

NOPI chicks only like guys with bling bling Imports, not Mustangs... and especially not Mavericks. :D

Actually Pat, it was a 7.400 @ 188.08, and 4.820 in the 1/8th, with a 1.204 sixty ft, at 3230 lbs. (80 lbs. over NMRA legal wieght), in 1000 ft. air but who's counting.:D

see that and I didnt want to drop names ..... well thats straight from the tuners mouth on the blower car.......

I think when Blair had the car it was 3170lbs, why is it now 60lbs heavier?

and where is the car???

PatBurke

The car actually weighed closer to 3270 by the end of the season but 3230 on that pass.

-Mike wieghs more than Jim
-double beadlock wheels
-fire supression system
-larger intercooler water tank and double the water
-new blower tubing w/ steel bulkheads thru firewall
-larger drivers seat
-new heavier gauge stainless headers

Mike still has the car. It's for sale as a roller.

Sorry, didn't mean to hi-jack the thread. Congrat's to Don Burton and crew. That **** would get you in the show at an Outlaw 10.5 race. Pretty impressive on 28 10.5's with stock floors and ladder bars. Good job!!

Pat, correct me if I'm wrong but the 94mm you guys ran at WFC last year was not a "straight" 94mm either.
Here is how I see this.
1st Manny turbo was illegal for WFC last year?????
2nd Dons car weights the same as Mannys
3rd both cars run 40MPH out the back with manny having the 91mm
The difference Burtons car run 1.17 60 4.76 to the 1/8th. Mannys 1.25 60 4.84 t the 1/8 but still runs alittle more MPH 194 7.37.What happens when Manny works on his car instead of more MPH with the bigger turbos. Take away the boost controller and the 7531 box and make it hook.
Still Love you East coast guys.
Same goes with the blower cars. Still a bigger advantage:)

Never would have thought Mike out weighed Blair.
thought Blair ran the beadlocks too.

I figured these was several 100lbs of ballast in there already.

Back the Don Burton show.:p

damn,I thought I'd have a chance w/the little tires, maybe I should run WFC9 w/w's.You guys are going way to fast. I guess I will have to try my luck though. I'll be busy putting this junk heap back together this weekend. With no testing on 28's we should be good for 7.60's and a first round loss. Can't wait to just race.Hope everyone has a safe trip.I will see everyone there. If I'm in the other lane Please go easy on me!!!!Travis Franklin

1st Manny turbo was illegal for WFC last year?????

wrong it was 100% legal by the rules..... they even tore the turbo down

2nd Dons car weights the same as Mannys

and he is faster by over 4 mph in NMRA trim ..... equals over a 100 more at the wheels

3rd both cars run 40MPH out the back with manny having the 91mm

we dont run 40 out the back normally around 37-38 best being 40.81 with the 94mm

The difference Burtons car run 1.17 60 4.76 to the 1/8th. Mannys 1.25 60 4.84 t

Again with the 94mm and a killer track for WFC

What happens when Manny works on his car instead of more MPH with the bigger turbos.

still wont go 1.17 60' or near a 4.76 1/8th turbo and blowers advantage is out the back door.... but not if you get out ran by pure power

Take away the boost controller and the 7531 box and make it hook.

A we dont use the 7531 for anything other then ignition and timing, and second a turbo car cant do that on a small tire.... take away all the stages and progressive controllers on nitrous cars then... see how far you make it out of the hole spraying all your power! thats what its like on a turbo car

Still Love you East coast guys.

Thats not what you said when you were drinking in BG last year! :D

Same goes with the blower cars. Still a bigger advantage

agree 100% when it comes to a turbo car..... now even they are behind the NOS cars

I thought he just did away with an intake and had a big sheet metal fogger:D :D .

05-23-2006, 07:01 AM
You mean.....there's really an intake and carb under that sheetmetal bonnet? I thought it was just eight bottles feeding into the runners.

I know you didn't mean anything by that, Ron. Just wondering if he had C460 heads or something else. Mine is getting 10.5W's so there's no conflict for Don.
