Jeff-
Since your calling the shots for Brian Booze in H/S and you've been around a while what is your opinion on the huge cams everybody is running? These guys are running cams with .050 numbers in the 278/292 to 282/292 range. L.S.A.'s in the 114 range. I am comming up with a compresion ratio of 16-1 ++ to support a cam that big for a 400 C.I.D. Does a slightly smaller cam (see Help? How Much Hp?) run faster? I'm guessing it has something to do with Intake port volume and velocity.

Not to be rude here guys, but I would not expect the front running h/s guys to share the specifics of their camshafts with the general public.
Most teams have spent big bux to test and develop what they have found works for their combination. That is the kind of work it takes to get a competitve edge. Its hard to find and in all honesty, almost never shared.
Perhaps you could call a cam manufacturer and discuss your questions with them. Afterall, they want to sell you the best product for your car and have their name on it when it does well. They have a vested interest in your success.
Hate to be a party poooooper...

Good point - No offence taken and I totally agree. However, how many people can afford to build and run a H/S car? Very few. I think the approach that has been historically taken in the past about keeping cam specs ultra secretive is B.S. personally. RSMAN broke the silence by telling everyone what he will be running this summer. I told everyone what cam/ engine combo I was running. The truth of the matter is the cam and compression ratio are only one small piece of a very big puzzle to going fast.
