I'm getting around to installing my FAST harness and it's been pretty painless and easy to get together. I did notice that I have one plug in the engine bay that isn't marked. It's a 4-pin connector and not very long. What's this for?

I can't firgure it out because all my sensor connectors are marked, the injector harness is on and the wideband is marked and attached/installed as well. What am I missing?

Looking for help in setting up the crank trigger as far as where it is in relation to the distributor. I thought I heard 50 degrees? Help? Thanks.

BTW it's a FAST sequential with wideband option

That connector is probably for the CAM sensor.

You'd want to set your crank trigger at 50 degrees, and set your crank reference angle (in the software) at 50 degrees. Start up the motor and check it with a timing light and verify that the timing that is in your timing map, matches the timing with the light. If it does not match, adjust your crank reference angle up or down until it does match.

You want the distributor rotor phased in at whatever timing you will be running mostly. If its 25 degrees (say with nitrous on or something), turn the motor to 25 degrees before TDC and point the rotor at the #1 terminal on the cap. Then lock the distributor down. If you need more info send me an email dan@hyperformanceracing.com Thanks.

About that cam sensor thing tho, I have a two wire plug that was marked "cam sensor" and I hooked up my distributor to that. The distributor (MSD Pro-Billet) was already modified with seven of the reluctors removed and it was locked in.

There might be a 4-pin for idle air control (IAC) if its a square plug (meaning not four side by side, but two on top of two).

That's what I mean, all the sensor connectors are labeled and accounted for. Then there's this thing just kinda hangin out. If it's not needed, then fine but I'd really like to know what it's for!

Looks like the plug that would be used to go to a TFI distributor, etc.

Dan! I just remembered where I recognized you from.....WFC! I was at your trailer checking out your ride since I'm all about the twin turbo thing. Awesome car!!! Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately no. :(
I got suckered into going to Vegas and getting married on Memorial Day weekend so we're saving for that. :D

Getting married isn't the only reason you're a suck'a, you suck'a!:D What up, Vinny? Getting things with your FAST sorted out, I see. Good deal, man. Are you using XFI or the standard FAST setup? Keep your notes handy, bro. I've got some XFI madness over here that's gonna require the advice of an "expert" to get it right.

Congrats on the settle-down move, bro! I'm crawling up on my tenth year and it really hasn't been nearly as painful as I thought it would be before I did it! Hahahahahaha! If 'ya got a good one, it's all good!

KJ ma dood!
Yup she's a keeper! Wish I would have had her on the first go around. After the first marriage didn't work I thought "I'm never doing THAT again!". Then after my second one I was sure I would never get married again. I'm okay with it tho. We want to have a kid so figured we'd tie the knot and get busy! LOL!

The FAST box I have has been sitting on the shelf for three years almost and I'm not even sure they had the XFI stuff out when I got mine. It looks like they're very similar tho. I'm very eager to get it up and going and start figuring out how to tune with it. I think the biggest part will be getting the base fuel map set. From there it should be fairly easy to dial it in. You know how touchy these things are with weather and track conditions. I'm hoping that between the boost controller and the FAST box I can make that car run whatever it needs to run. :D

Hoping to put some spark to her in the next few weeks. I'll keep you posted!
