I just installed a MSD crank trigger on my 460 Mustang and want to run an alternator. This is all that will be driven from the crank since I have an electric water pump. I would like to stay with a v-belt system. Where can I find a crank mandrel, some type pulley or something that will work? Any suggestions? Thanks

I recently put an alternator on my BBF dragster. It has a crank trigger and an electric waterpump. A buddy of mine did his at the same time. His also has a crank trigger and electric waterpump.

The main difference was that mine uses an ATI damper and his has a Romac. The ATI damper uses a BBC pulley and the Romac uses a stock Ford bolt pattern pulley. We both used a Nippodenso super mini alternator, but you could use any alt/bracket setup. The pulley setup would remain the same.

Here is a writeup I did on the 460ford.com forum with some pics:

Any questions just ask.
