I've been 11.96@112.5 on a totally stock motor with 3.73's MT DR and 100 shot. 1.59 60'

We have put 175 (wet) to our 95 without issue. Single nozzle kit. Went 12.67 stock engine, it had never even had a valve cover off. 8.5" MT slick, 3.73 gear, and O/R H w/ Flowmasters. I think it was a 1.71 60".

But how long will a stock motor last at that power level?

i ran a 175hp nitrous works kit on a stock 93 bottom end for 4 years every weekend and driving it daily, and i never hurt anything except for some spark plugs a couple times. it was a bone stock bottom end with out of the box t/w heads, anderson b-31 cam 30lb injectors , performer rpm intake.c4 with 3800 stall, and 373 gears it ran 10.75 at 125, wasnt bad for what it was

Because I am running a 75 shot on a totally bone stock motor, with the exception of an Edelbrock Performer intake, and I never retarded timing either. So you saying I could run 125 or 150 on my motor and still be reletively safe.

i am currently running a completely stock speed density motor in my 87 t-top hatch and it has been low 11.80's it has ran solid for 3 years and it is currently on its fourth season and never been below 125 shot during this time.

I've heard that speed density and nitrous get along very, very well! but I've also heard that I should retard timing 2 degrees for my 75 shot and 1 degree for every 25hp increase from there. Or can I safely run 75, 100, 125 without retarding any? And how many runs do you get at 125 hp out of a 10lb bottle?

the timeing is top seceret:D you have to play with it to see what your car likes and it also depends on the conditions, and i usually change the bottle after 4 passes.

Im running a 75 shot on my stock timing, i will soon be stepping that up:D :eek: :cool: to 100 or 125. but how do I adjust WOT timing rather than total timing?

have somebody in the car and hold the rpm's at 2500 the timing doesent change after that

Just started playing with a N.W single nozzle wet kit on my wife's 89 coupe. It's got the bigger/upgraded nozzle that comes with jetting for 125/150/175 shot. We've made a few runs with the 125 shot and had no troubles doing nothing other than backing the timing down to only 9 degrees base. It's all stock other than exhaust, a 3.90 gear and a set of pulleys. My question for all you N20 guys is this;

How big can we go with the power level before we should worry about upgrading the stock ignition ( with a coil, 6al ?, etc. ) and upgrading the stock fuel system ( inj. size, bigger pump, etc.) ?

How much can the stock stuff support???

Thanks for any info,
Rich
