Hey guys, wiring up my trans brake. Been told NOT to use a relay, but to just wire it directly to B+. Is this true? It seems with the amount of current that the solenoid would pull, you would end up arcing the switch over time??? Maybe a non-issue?

Most people don't use a realy to make the reaction time quicker. You should consult whoever made your brake on the proper setup to be sure.

That is what I heard too! I bought the trans from my buddy and he had it wired direct. Probably not a big deal either way....BTW, the trans is a Dynamic Mighty Mite M2.

Works for me! Any idea how many amps those solenoids pull? Need to know what fuse to protect it with. Thanks.

Your not on the brake long enough to kill the switch. And you don’t want to use a relay because you want to keep all the moving parts out of the equation to keep the reaction time down.

Thanks. Do you know what fuse to protect the circuit with? I guess I can always measure the amperage once I get the car going, just hoping to find out before hand. I'm using a Dynamic Mighty Mite M2 trans setup with their brake. Thanks again.
