Hey guys I was hoping someone could help me out.

We're mounting the engine in our project car, and we're having a problem setting the engine low in the car.

We've got a 9.5 deck engine with the large Canton Pro pan, Skinny Kid Motor Plates & Mid Plate, and a PA racing K-member with the Pinto-rack option.

The lowest we can get the engine is a 14.75-inch crank centerline to ground height with the car at ride height. We've got the engine a few inches set back, and the oil pan is hitting the Pinto rack mount.

Is 14.75-inches an acceptable engine height for a drag radial style car or is it too high? We can cut the mounts off the rack and lower the rack if we need to get the engine lower. We'd prefer not to, but can.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
James

Use off set rack bushings to lower the rack as much as possible. Then you should set the motor 1\8th inch off the rack.
