edelbrock rpm series intakes or the weiand stealth. I didn't even know trick flow made a carb intake for the 302:confused:

I didnt know there was a Trick flow carb intake either. Most of the top running carb cars run Air gap intakes. I would use that if i were you.

I have been trying a carb and i think it might be worth some power but i think it will take a lot of work to get it sorted out unless you are a carb guy that knows all the ins and outs . Good luck Ryan.

hey ryan! ive been following the JPC guys this year, keep going man im hoping for ya! do you think the carbed guys are running faster? i thought the EFI set up was a little better! i know JB likes it alot, i was just gonna use the carb setup till money permitted the EFI, but i may as well try to do it all right and stick with it! i know rich groh last year used both, im wondering which worked better for him! good luck dude!!!
P.S. the part # is TFS-54400111 but its not allowed in the rules! (yet)

Well unless they start allowing big blocks with dominator carbs I dont think that maniflold will ever be allowed :D
The two guys I am chasing in points are running carbs and theres a reason it had a 150pound weight penalty up until last season. Tech must know something :) I will take the 25 pounds happily and give it a shot. I know alittle about a carb.... mostly who to buy the right one from. I will still have the EFI setup too. If I cant get the carb to work out I will put the EFI back on. Only take a few hours to swap'em out.

I remember a few years back seeing Gene Hindman do the complete swap: carb to EFI and back,(or something like that) at World Ford Challenge.
I think he won the event also?
Gene: Was this the same year you twisted the oil pump shaft, pulled the engine and still won?:p

YES! And I had no knowledge of a carb on how to make it work. I showed up to WFC5 with the carb in place... made 1 Test run and then first round of qualifying with the carb. I was on the phone with some of the countries best and had no idea what they wanted me to do... so I swapped back to the EFI between 1st and 2nd round and went on to win the race. Funny, too...their were a couple of people in the class that tried to get me DQed for the swap, although both were legal. They wanted me to go through tech again and throw out the 1st run... Idiots.
I think if the runs were both made legal than who cares what you change during qualifying. If tech wanted to tear you down between qualifying and eliminations then they would have.
Just my 2 cents. I wasnt there and dont know the particulars. I just race my race and run against whoever is next to me. I assume the person next to me is as legal as I am. I hate to go to tech and accuse someone of cheating. Right now I just think the people ahead of me are better at the sport than I am, but, I'm learning :D
I'm assuming you never put the carb back on to test at a later date? Kinda find it shocking that you didnt test the combo out to find all the power you could or prove it to be inferior to your current setup.

oh ****! LOL! that is a big block intake isnt it! i guess i didnt pay attention to the details! LOL! im such a big fan of trickflow i didnt bother to look, i just started askin what people thought about it! oh well! i feel dumb:o
let me know if you find more power in the carb! or if its about the same and the weight penalty is favoring the carb! good luck!
