How much is too much to spray thru a duel stage plate before i switch to a fogger. I have a NX gemini quad dual stage plate capable of 1000hp. Although i only want to use a 7-800hp shot. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Man your wantin to blow one up, do you have a billet rotating assy. If you don't I don't recommend sprayin that. You'd better spray that amount in three stages!

Yeah its got all the good stuff, engine builder said it would take it . One other ? I was always told don't spray more than engine makes alone, any body else ever hear that? And if thats the case does that go for turbo/blower combo's?

I would suggest hiring someone at the track a couple of times to show you a few things, and tune it for you because you are fixin to go for the ride of your life. One wrong move on that much spray and boom!

Personally i would never spray that much through a plate, distribution will become a factor with that much horsepower, you want tuneability. Switch to a fogger for your second stage and spray the big numbers with that. Also remember when launching, a fogger will leave a little softer than a plate will. But if you're really going to spray that much and want consistancy, and tuneability, just use two foggers and keep it safe.
As far as spraying more than teh engine makes naturally, i don't think it matters. Horse power is horse power. If it was built to handle it it should be fine.

Yeah i know its alot to spray, but i'm tryn to put together a D.R. car something to hang w/ the boosted cars. I don't know how much other guys are spraying,i just want to know power is there if needed. I'll start out w/ a small shot and work up. I know alot of guys that are pretty good w/ nos so I'm not bothered by the tune on it. Know a guy w/ close to my set w/ 500hp shot went 8.40's just thinking might need a little more. If it blows it blows they build new ones every day.

If you're going to build a DR car, most are about 3200 pounds, according to a calculator you need around 1300 at the flywheel for a mid 8 second. Now considering being a DR car you might want more because of leaving softer and need to pour it on upstairs. Hope this helps.

Don't think you'll need 1300 but close I'd say about 1150, 1175 flywheel will get you were you want to be, spray it with two stages of 250 then if that's not enough go 275-300. If you spray in stages you'll hook better and run faster, plus not as likely to hurt something. I know a guy that has been 8.40's and does not have 1250 or less.:) Goodluck.

I'd like to use 3 stage but i think rules say only 2, unless they change them now tell then.

DR Williams,
The best approach is multiple small stages. It's easier in the tires and engine. Don't get caught in the advertised numbers game (HP settings). You need to get two direct port systems on the engine, a baseline tune up, and start there. After you start with a baseline you can move forward at a rapid rate with minimal chance to fail. Great support is very important if you don't have much experience as well. Please feel free to e mail me if I can help you out. I can do the install as well as help you tune at the track. Thanks, Steve

Im lookin to spray my car with a 500 shot so what would be the best way to go a plate or a fogger? and what is the best block to run with that high shot of spray?? any help would be great thanks

Looking at 500 HP really needs to be in the form of a direct port system. It would also be easier on the engine if it was delivered in smaller (multiple) stages. As for aftermarket blocks, I don't keep up very close with all the options available. It would also depend if you were wanting to stay with a steel or aluminum block too ??
