View Full Version : Shamrock goes down again.
Lets hear it UFC fans.
Is it me or is Ken Shamrock like a turtle? Everytime he ends up on his back he gets pummeled.
Team Punishment looked pretty impressive last night. I think Tito Ortiz will give Chuck Liddel some competition. Time will tell.

i like chuck liddel, but if it wasnt for his eye poking antics.....ortiz and coutore would have both beaten him. they need to tape his thumbs down or something. it was good to see ken retire, hes not where he needs to be physically to keep up anymore. tito was just plain stronger, and it showed.....in all 3 fights.

You might have a point on the eye poking. I never thought of it that much. Its hard to say if the fight would have ended different with out the eye pokes. Liddel is a awesome fighter and I would like to think that they were a pure accident and not something to get an edge.

I have to say, thats pretty much how I though it would go. I thought it was cool how after the fight ortiz still flipped him off and shamrock still walked over to him and put the whole thing behind them.
ortiz and chuck though, i'm still picking chuck........

they both showed true class and sportsmanship after the fight, my hats off to both of them.

i never meant chuck does it intentionally....it happens. but imo, it played a very big part in beating both of them. chuck is a top fighter, no doubt about it. both of those fights were over within a minute of them getting poked though, he seen his opening and he took it......its a fight, i'd do the same. this will be an all out war if tito keeps up his training like he is now, but i wanted to see liddel vs w. silva 1000x more.

I don't think he does it intentionally either, I think it was two bad coincidences. The Tito / Liddel fight would be a war. For some reason I think Tito would win. Its sounds crazy but I think he will pull it off. As for the Silva / Liddel fight, I don't think that will ever happen. From what I have read there is a big contracts battle between Pride and the UFC concerning the fight.

Chuck will knock out Tito again. Tito will make a mistake and Chuck will capitalize on it, just like last time.
BTW, thanks for the help with BP in Bowling Green, Hank.:D

I figured you would be pissed at me. I have no excuse and will properly discipline myself. In my defense it was a really close race.
Are you going to Orlando?

It's all good. Fortunately, things worked out for me. I am planning on going to Orlando but trying to take off work again is going to be tough. We'll see.
Back to the UFC, did you see the Franklin/Silva fight? I never thought that be the outcome.
Talk to ya later

I figured that would happen, I didn't see it but Anderson is an animal.

you guys thought that was a beating....wait until they throw him in the ring with the newest TUF winner  . theres also talks of Jeremy Horn, and Matt Hughes making weight to fight him. seems they are all starting to come out of the woodwork since friendship is no longer keeping them from the 185 belt. the TUF winner gets first crack at him, then mike swick gets his chance. time will tell, but i think silvia will hold the belt for awhile. those ufc boys arent quite used to chute box fighters who use the clinch.
I hear ya, they are doing a good job of making it interesting...

You think Chuck Liddell could make 185.

He may make the weight but I think it will hurt his performance.

like a turtle..no! a turtle can defend itself and hide in a shell...ha!
Shamrock has a LOT of heart. Just reality that his skills and strength aren't up to today's standards as the fighter's progress. I did like the ending where they both put it behind them and had some class. I thought for a second though that Tito was going to be a prick he came around. Finally, some sense and maturity out of Tito. I hope Tito gets his face beaten in by Chucky....GO CHUCK! :D

cant take anything away from what shamrock has done for the sport. tito looks as strong as ever, imo. chuck is going to have one hell of a fight on his hands, if tito keeps training like he has. honestly i have never really liked tito because of his antics, but if he gets chuck on the ground.....chuck is going to be royally screwed. Cotoure and Rampage did everyone a favor when they faught chuck, they put him on the ground and showed his weakness. tito has 5 full rounds to beat that sprawl, if chuck dont catch him with one of those missiles. he is cocky though, and i wouldnt put it past him trying to stand with chuck and getting put to sleep. i look forward to this fight and hopefully a Hughes vs GSP.

Age caught up with Shamrock. I can be empathetic with him for I see it in myself when I do stuff not that I was coordinated or a fast mover. It is true, you go over 40 and it does matter when you do physical stuff that require brain-muscle response.
Tito is good now but like these physical sports there will be another to take him down as what will happen to the other top guys right now.
