What's up fella's! First off I'm new to this board and wanted to say all you guys running PURE STREET ARE AWESOME!!! How fast you guy's are running is amazing given the allowed parts you can use. I was wondering if a stock block would live up to what you guys are doing and how many cubess to run and any other info I could use to help me out. I had a 306 in my old car with heads ported by Ed curtis and a VICTOR EFI intake with a ANDERSON cam N-91 KOOKS long tube headers 1 3/4" with a t-5 and 4.56 gears, the first time out off the trailer the car went 11.1 @122.7. I was always weary of the stock block failing and want to know if I could use one again with no problems.BTW my old car made 412rwhp on MIKE DEZ's dyno in MASS.

I wouldn't recomend it. I personally ran a 10.46 in NMRA trim and 10.29 outside NMRA with a Mexican block. The Dart block is a much better piece and when you factor the cost of your engine, why risk all the expensive parts to be ruined because a stock block breaks. With the 8000+ rpm's it's just not worth it.

You guys shift those things at 8000 rpm's? HOLY SMOKE BATMAN!! How are those systemax intakes doing that? I guess it's back to the drawing board for me. Thanks for the info.

I'd love to see that.
Heh. I've got a 48" print of that pic on my wall in the garage.

PERhaps one in each place then.:) ;) I know what you mean though. I think I would rather be in my garage than the living room for sure!

Teddy,
You know what I did would never be considered "driving" so I'll stick with the other end of the project...
Just awaiting the new rules for P/S 2007 and the return of the "Twin" to the northeast.
LS7-427 in the car?
Hmmmmmm..... If Robin Lawrence can run one, why not me!

Your post says "Had a 306", if this means you don't anymore, then I have a pretty nice 308 shortblock for inline valves for sale. It is a stock block too, but it has been quick. I have heads too. PM me if you want any info.

It was spec'd by Mark McKeown of MMERACING.com. That sortblock is still together and is for sale for a killer price, p.m. for more details.
