Killer- I went to the drag expo in chicago and found these things-
Rubber coated copper head gaskets!!!!!
seroiusly.... am i the only person who's never seen these things????
Anyone got any input to these things?
The only thing that gets me is that theyre about $100 for a set of .042 thick's, but they are made custom, to order

Just wondering if anyone else has used these or the SCE Titan's? What about those Mr. Gasket Solicor gaskets? I've seen some positive comments on those and the price is good.....

Thanks Tater

For years now i have been giving my copper gaskets a light coat of High Temp RTV Silicone on both sides. It has worked since the day i have started doing it - no leaks no problems. My machine shop suggested it - the only way they could keep the big block dirt track motors (750plus hp & 15:1 comp) they were building from leaking & hurting head gaskets was using this method. Some people though this sounded weird and all i knew was it worked - now they make these NEW rubber coated gaskets an it makes you think.........

we tried using flatout gaskets in a couple of our drag
cars last year and after a couple of races we went back
to the regular cooper gasket(they kept on leaking water)
i(we) think these gaskets "flatout" suk

stang306.... did you ever retorque them?? you're supposed to do that after heating and cooling the motor a couple of times with coppers (especially with flatouts)

Not sure about their RCC head gaskets, but I just had Pat & the guys there make me some custom aluminum intake spacers on their waterjet cutter. They did an excellent job for an excellent price and I am very pleased with their customer service as well. Next time I need new copper head gaskets I'll definitely give them a shot.
