I have an 84 GT T-top car w/ 11,000 Miles
Plan on having car back halfed over winter w/ full cage, and minitubed to fit 31-33x10.5w under it
I was givin a 429 2bbl running w/ c6 for free.
I want send it out have a new shortblock built to hold boost.. from either a procharger or large single turbo
Would like some advice on what rotating assembly and where to get it.
Heads will be SCJ heads out of summit.
Engine will be in Engine plate, and was thinking either procharger f1r or something near it, or a 100+mm single turbo
Car is only going to be for weekends, car shows, and test and tunes. also ditching the c6 for a mightymite c4

First decide on the power adder. There is a world of difference between a F1R and a 100 mm turbo. There are several different cubic inch options and quality options for the rotating assembly. Will it be EFI or blow-thru?

Glide and ultimate converter for the trans and coast high performance for the short block is good www.coasthigh.com but Jon Kaase is the big block master heck i even bought his small block heads the jegs/kaase canted valve heads cant wait to try them.

If you want it simple, use a procharger. I am trying to fit up my 87 Turbo Coupe 460 with a single front mount turbo and there is not much room to work with. Wish I had bought a procharger.;)

Since you have the C6 I would keep it. And I would check out Mustang Depot for a stroker kit and heads. They have great prices.A 557 stroker is a very good ,but upgrade to H beam rods and forged crank. There TMD heads are also a great buy. Yes you could go with a C4 or a Glide but for now I would stay with the C6 for with a good rebuild with upgraded valve body and converter. Big blocks go thru C4 ,s and glides like water. I had a 1983 Ford Van short wheel base 4X4 with a 514 and C6 with 39 Mickeys and 513 gears that ran low 12's. Never had any problems with the C6 . Just my Two cents. Ron

Sorry to jump the thread here but are there any fit issues with a C-6 in a fox body? I am at the point where I need to choose my trans and while the C-6 is heavier, everything I'm reading is telling me to add the weight for durability. No 'glide for me, need to shift more than once! Thanks.

You can get a rough forged crank from fordracing and some billit rods from oliver, heck you could probably get a whole rotating assembly from oliver. Due to the fact you are looking at around 2500hp (with a 101mm turbo) if tuned correctly. With that much power I would suggest a glide, but for street driving go N/A with Nitrous Oxide and a C6. If you don't want that C6 though, I am looking to get one for my Fox. Just my pondering upon the subject you rendered...;)

i had to beat my floor a little to make the c6 fit, i went to a c4 and had tons of room, i think when i do a 557 in it, i am gonna go with a glide... my car goes 9.74 with a 9:1 466ci...

521bb glide 9 inch fox, a glide is the only way to go for the strip, i'd go with a turbo 400 for the street/track use, c/6's are junk in my opinion. -tom
