Do you actually believe that anyone here honestly thinks that your 1985 purple Mustang “street car” is capable of running nines on the engine on pump gas, no power adders, and that you’re driving it back and forth to work delivering groceries with it as well as to the track? It might have a ring of truth to it if you told everyone that you really were runnig aStroker small block cheby engine in the car, but a 351W Ford engine?
That’s almost as good as “8 sec street gt” delivering parts as fast. But, who am I to judge.

You do realize you can stroke a 351 to 427 and above...I believe he could have a 9 second street car easily.
And why are you on an all ford site...seems like you are into Chevy's.

I always knew you would get into the 70’s but dang dipping into the 60 is fantastic and your short times are better then mine now, I just wish I had your ET's,lol. I still would like to see what it would do with race fuel and the timing bumped up a bit...
When you say you’re building your engine for James, do you mean one just like yours or your engine?

Is all that rubber fuel line hose with single hose clamps legal at your track? I thought it was limited to a foot or less in the whole system ? BAdass performance for a "street car" though all mtr. and pump.

Orlando Speed World is somewhat relaxed on rules, well, I haven’t raced there in a while but that’s normally the case. Same with Bradenton, I showed up there once with seat belts that were about 4 years too old and they let me race.
Don't even ask about Lakeland Speedway. It's a 1/8 mile track and I've seen guys drinking beer before and after they've raced. Not sure but I think some of the cars even had cup holders.

who said anything about 8 sec street gt delivering parts? As far as the Lakeland track goes, I've run 6.09 on foot brake w/ a 1.34 60 foot. best MPH of 120.68..... HOWEVER, the right lane is 2 MPH off and the left lane is a little over 1 MPH off. It is well known that the timers are incorrect at this track even to this day. I ran this time at lakeland in the LEFT lane. I have never ran better than 117.84 in the eighth at speedworld but the car has run into the 5.80's at OSW and so go figure.
and yes mike, I know who you are in these threads

Here is another confirmation - I have seen that Mustang at Orlando Speed World go high 9s. Watch out though Brian, when I get back to Orlando I will be coming after you with my grocery getting 91 Mustang with 3.25 gears and a 3000 stall converter. You know who this is. Ha, ha.

(We) built my engine identical and down to the thou. to Brians and we're both waiting on our heads to be completed. Brian's combo is the ONLY reason I sold my blower engine. He was gracious enough to duplicate his well earned combo to me and now I can run mid-nines w/ 93 octane and not have to spend $14. / gallon for 116 torco or cam2 or replace broken blower belts at $52. ea., I figured that I can spray 200hp No2 safely to get back into the 8's w/ 110 mix.......My car does turn 1.29 60ft's on the brake and this combo is proven and absolutely a no-brainer to anyone who likes to drive their car daily on the street.

Well good luck with it. I won't be back in town for another month. You may have heard that last time I was in town I snuck out to OSW and ran a 9.83. When I get back next month I expect to have time to tune it so it will run faster. Heading for the 8's..... I suppose you might get there first.

Yes, it hooked well (1.48 short) and went a couple of 9.8's without pushing it hard. I've been out of town since July and haven't had a chance to turn up the boost so most of the improvements have been tuning with what I have using the 2 bar map. Looks like I will be back in town Nov 8th and can start doing some things with it. Heck, I don't know what I will do with air temperatures below 90 degs. Cool air will be nice for a change.

Good job. I can't wait to get back and go racing regularly. Our cars should be fun to run side by side. Two different approaches to the same challenge with similar fast results.

Racing all year round has it's pitfalls. It costs more since you don't have months of down time. You never know when the best time is to do major upgrades or maintenance because there is no forced down time during winter.
The worst part is trying to work on your car when the temperature gets cold. We typically don't have heated garages so the temperature inside is usually close to the outside temp. Yesterday it was terrible. We had a low of mid 40's and a high of mid 60's. I had to wear an extra t-shirt, long pants and put a jacket on for most of the day. I couldn't even wear my sandles - I had to put on socks and tennis shoes. Sometimes I get so tired of trying to work in this cold Orlando weather that I really consider moving back to warm weather Miami where I was born. (Heh, Heh)
