Hey just wanted to know if there is anyone out there that knows anything about the Eldebrock Aluminum heads. Were try to build a big block motor and wanted to know if these are good heads and if there are any known problems with them. Also wanted to see how they compare with the Ford SCJ aluminum heads. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Doug

Go to 460ford site you get all the info you need. Nothing wrong with the edel. heads, they just want make as much power as the SCJs.
Depending on what your goals are, the SCJ heads have more room for growth than the Edelbrocks. Might also want to consider the new Kaase P-51 heads, they flow nice numbers right out of the box and aren't going to be that much more expensive. Go to 460Ford.com and look around, there is a lot of knowledge on this site. Hope this helps. Nevs

Hey Nevs, this is Chuck from 460ford. I agree with you on the p51s. They flow as good as C Evans fully ported SCJ.

Thanks guys we went ahead and got a set of SCJ heads, for a good price. Putting the motor together now but we have so much work moving stuff around for it to fit were going to miss Reynolds. Guess I have to wait till BG. Joined 460ford some very good stuff there.

The best advise I can give you is to use 1.5" spacer between the frame & K member, ya'll be glad you did. More hood room, motor sets streight, headers will not hit the bottom of car & motor will set more in line with the radiator. If you need some pics let me know?

Actually its a complete tube chassis car. The problem we are having is with the steering rod comes out where the exhaust comes out. So were having to move the whole rack. Plus having to build headers to fit in this car is a pain. The small block was hard enough. The big block is making it much harder.
Thanks

Just a little 466 nothing big or too fast, just a little faster than the small block we had.
The Gold car is a former car we don't have any pictures of the new one yet since we have only had it out 2 times last year.

I would go with 450lb front springs for the car at the least. Go with a powerglide and a ultrabell. Works very well in our car and has for year. We used to run a C4 but just was not good enough for what we wanted. Powerglide is cheap and does not weigh very much. Should be a stout running ole car you have there. We should be done this weekend with our car had so many problems cannot even name them all. Good luck hope to see you out this year with the car.

Your heads are not cobra jets, but good heads with approximately 77cc chambers. Cobra Jets are DOOE-R, but your heads will make good power and can support 700hp if properly ported. Definately use a powerglide. I went with a JW Bell and the swap was simple. Chris
