Hi all, I'm new to the forum and from the land of OZ, anyway i am amazed at the performance of the pure street class cars you guys run!
Can anyone give me some insight as to how you get a naturally aspirated std stroke 302w, with street style heads, approx 10:1 comp (58cc min), cam with max lift of 0.500", street style manifold, and 650 cfm?? carburettor to produce,
wait for it.....
400+ RWHP and mid to low 10 sec quarters in a 3100 lb fox body!!!!!???
Have i missed something crucial with the engine specs of this class, or are the basics above true and correct?

I thought Gene was the only one who did any testing.

I didn't have the money to buy 2 of everything to try and see if the DYNO would show any results, So going to the track and finding every bit the chassis would prosper was my best option, plus it takes practice to learn to drive properly too. I didn't make the power that all of you are, I guess I would have if I had changed heads.

It was a joke, lighten up Champ.
You still tested more than everyone.... No denying that, right?

Can anyone drop any hints as to what duration @ 0.050" a pure street camshaft would typically run, i would be guessing up around 270-275 degrees?? with the sort of revs some of the guys are quoting in other topics i've read on here, thanks for your replies...

I do not think you will get an answer to that question. Maybe a vague answer, but not an exact.

I can tell you what the Street Warrior engines liked, around 260/280 Im not sure how that much split worked but it did. Monster RPM, little engine, with no lift.
