I don't know much about 4.6's, but I'm asking for a friend. He has a 4.6 Cobra motor with all eagle forged internals in an iron block, CP pistons, SHM cams and the heads have been ported by Fox Lake and uses a S-trim blower. The motor has less than 500 street miles, never been raced and has over heated to 230 degrees once from a stuck thermostat a year ago. We fix the thermostat and the car runs fine, but there is about a quart of pure antifreeze that can be drained from the drain plug before any oil empties. This happens just from idle time only. Just wondering where to look for the problem? Can the head gaskets leak that easily or is there another area that we should look at . The antifreeze can finally be smelt through the exhaust and there is a little smoke. Thanks for any help.
